Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Alongside classical music and jazz, she began studying hip-hop in her teens. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She majored both in women's study as well as journalism.
