Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he was enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark where he graduated in 1995. In addition to his part in the drama series that was released worldwide under the name The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other internationally well-known Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a lead part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, his character was the President of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English, and he has mastered diverse accents. According to Mikkelsen's account the story, he and his brother learned English by studying Monty Python records.
