Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actress. Her screen debut came in her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. She speaks fluent French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her mother is a professional violinist. Her father is an actor and theater instructor at one Romania's most prestigious drama schools. She was awarded the Best Female Actor of the Year in 2000 Award at The Young Actor Gala Mangalia. She was also named"a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. In 2007, she appeared in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si 2 days (4 Three Weeks 4 Months 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). She also appeared as the child character in the film of Francis Ford Coppola, Youth Without Youth. She was also in 2008 as Yasim Anwar for the BBC five-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role of Oliver Hirschbiegel in Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the film Fury (2014) her character appeared as Irma the German woman who was Emma's aunt.
