Her birthplace was Montevideo, Uruguay on the 2nd February 1978. She is mixed-race, having both Japanese as well as Uruguayan heritage. She has an older brother, and also has two other siblings. Yuyi Mori (her mother) and Rosario Ochoa (her father) are her parents. Barbara's parents separated when she was just 3 years old. Barbara was a part of her childhood in Mexico along with Uruguay.
